Event Details

Carol Ullman, co-owner of Washtenaw Wool Co. and knitting teacher at Ann Arbor's Spun, facilitates this hands-on knitting workshop.  NOTE: PREP WORK IS REQUIRED!

We will unravel the mysteries of colorwork knitting while working on Tin Can Knits' Clayoquot Toque.  Topics we'll cover include: color selection, how to read a chart, holding multiple yarns, tensioning colorwork, and blocking.  Participants need to know how to knit in the round.  Come to class with the ribbing of your hat done so we can launch right into the colorwork.  Please see materials list, below.

  • Printout of the Pattern (click on link at left)
  • Solid color DK weight yarn (3 colors, as follows), like Cascade 220 or Shepherd's Wool (check your gauge!).  Main Color (160 yards), Contrast Color One (40 yards), Contrast Color Two (20 yards)
